The following explains how we collect, store and handle your personal data. For further information please refer to our Privacy Commitment policy.

Why we collect your data

We collect your data when you purchase a product or service (for example register to use our Disclosure Service, or apply for a DBS check) from us. This is so that we can fulfil the order. We only keep that data for as long as we need to, for example:

Where you have made a Dsiclosure application we will retain the data relating to the applicataion for a period of 12 months following the issue of results by the DBS, after which time the data will be deleted.

Where you have registered with our Disclosure Service we will retain your data for no longer than 12 months after your last DBS check. After that time your data will be deleted.

When you register to use our Disclosure Service, you have the option of signing up to receive further information from us. If you have selected the option to receive these communications, we may use the data we hold about you to help us personalise the information that we send to you. For example, we can tailor it to where in the UK you are located and to your professional interests.

How we collect your data

  • you make online purchases with us (i.e. apply for a disclosure check)
  • you provide us details of your branches or staff that you would like to receive information

We treat your data with the utmost care and take appropriate steps to protect it.

When we'll share the data you provide us

When we send you informational emails as part of a mailout, we will include your email address and personalisation details (usually just your name) to our preferred mailing list provider. This data is generated as necessary and is then managed by our miling list provider so that they can provide us with analytical insight into te usage of our mailouts. This data is held under their terms and conditions
